If you visit our local state parks often, an annual vehicle day use pass can be great value. It’s currently $125 for the year, but is increasing to $195 from the 1st May, 2012. Order your pass online this week at the webstore to avoid the extra charge. See here for details.
Wow, that’s a steep increase. They are obviously taking their lead from the Palo Alto housing market. Ours doesn’t expire until September so not much point in renewing now 😦
Sorry I seem to be stalking your blog today… but I did want to suggest for those occasional park visitors who want a lower price tag up front, you can join the CA state parks foundation, a nonprofit, which for the price of $25 for an annual membership, comes with a 7 coupons for free day passes to any california state park (usually about $10 per day pass at the gate – you come out ahead after 3 visits). The deal is for new members only, but the renewal rate for existing members is $40- still a great deal.
