The Outdoors Parent

In 2008 I moved to North California from England (via a couple of years in Philadelphia) with my husband. We were quickly joined by two wonderful and highly energetic little boys and then a little girl. B.C. (Before Children) we spent a lot of time outdoors as keen backpackers, hikers, runners, rafters and skiers and are delighted to find ourselves in this part of the country with its wonderful climate, varied terrain and many opportunities for outdoor sports.  The trick now, however, is combining this outdoors life with toddlers. This blog is the record of our attempts to be outdoors parents and to raise outdoors kids who enjoy getting into the wilderness (loosely defined!) as much as we do.  I also hope to inspire other families to get their preschoolers into nature and to raise outdoors kids.
